The Origins of Wilderoot

Long before Wilderoot Apothecary had a name, it began in the hills and fields of Tennessee. In tall grass swaying beside the roadside, in creekbeds scattered with smooth stones, and in the habit of stopping to notice every strange plant and wild thing along the way. I grew up daydreaming about hillsides and wooded places, feeling most at home outdoors with muddy shoes and pockets full of gathered treasures.

Nature never felt distant to me. It felt familiar & alive in a way difficult to explain. I found myself drawn especially toward wildlife, local plants, and the quiet presence of the land itself. Over time that curiosity deepened into study and practice: learning the old names of plants, their stories, their uses, and the traditions carried alongside them.

Today I am a practicing home herbalist, forager, and folk practitioner with a deep love for botanical traditions, devotional practice, and the rituals that help make a little life feel rooted and meaningful. Wilderoot Apothecary grew from that same place - a desire to create objects that feel gathered rather than manufactured. Things meant to rest beside the hearth, beneath pillows, upon altars, and in coat pockets through hard seasons.

Everything here is made slowly and with intention. Oils infused over low warmth, herbs chosen carefully, curios gathered by hand, and small safeguards crafted in the spirit of old folk practices and sacred traditions.

Wilderoot is built from the things I have always loved most: roots and rituals, hillsides and hollers, old stories, local plant spirits, and the ever present belief that even small objects can carry meaning.

Welcome in. The fire is warm, the shelves are full, and there is always room beside the hearth.
